Path Into the MDR Dance Company
The philosophy of MDR artistic existence is supported through its unique TIC technique.
MDR Apprenticeship is a paid apprenticeship designed for advanced dancers transitioning from limited professional experience into full company-level work. Apprentices participate in daily classes and rehearsals while working directly inside the artistic and production structure of Mystic Dark Room. MDR apprentices are held to professional performance standards and are regularly cast in immersive productions and special projects. The apprenticeship functions as a direct company track, offering real-world experience and a clear pathway toward full company membership. Apprentices train under the supervision of MDR artists and staff while learning the company’s TIC Technique and SUBO Language. The apprenticeship runs for 1–2 years, depending on individual progress, role readiness, and artistic development.

Daily - Training Rehearsal Schedule
Monday – Friday (Saturday & Sunday OFF)
- Company TIC Technique class/warmup (9:00 – 10:30 am daily
- Morning Rep Rehearsals (10:30 – 1:00 pm daily)
- Lunch (1:00 – 1:30 pm)
- Afternoon Rep Rehearsals (1:30 – 5:00 pm daily)
- Performance Stage/Tech preparation (1–2 weeks before start of Show run)

MDR Access Program
The MDR Access Program provides MDR Dance Company Apprentices, with essential structural support intended to remove logistical and financial obstacles and enable focused professional growth. The program is supported by state funding, corporate partnerships, and private contributions.
- Apprentices - Paid per performance - starting at $2,800 (56 performances).
- Training - Tuition Free (supported through the Funded Access Program)
- Up to 50% subsidized accommodations for MDR Apprentices - starting at $825/month.
- Scheduled local transportation provided.
- Complimentary access to adult community classes, including dance, and Health & Wellness Classes
- For International Dancers: Assistance for US Visa application — SEVP Certified (SEVIS Approved) to issue form I-20
